يبين لنا الرسول الكريم، صلى الله عليه وسلم، فى هذا الحديث أن من نعمة الله سبحانه وتعالى على عباده أن شرع لهم التعاون على البر والتقوى، ومن ذلك تفطير الصائم، لأن الصائم مأمور بأن يفطر وأن يعجل الفطر، فإذا أعين على هذا فهو من نعمة الله عز وجل.
واختلف العلماء فى معنى «من فطر صائما»، فقيل: إن المراد من فطره على أدنى ما يفطر به الصائم ولو بتمرة.
وقال بعض العلماء: المراد بتفطيره أن يشبعه، لأن هذا هو الذى ينفع الصائم طول ليله وربما يستغنى به عن السحور؟، ولكن ظاهر الحديث أن الإنسان لو فطر صائما ولو بتمرة واحدة فإنه له مثل أجره.
ولهذا ينبغى للإنسان أن يحرص على إفطار الصائمين بقدر المستطاع، لاسيما مع حاجة الصائمين وفقرهم أو حاجتهم لكونهم لا يجدون من يقوم بتجهيز الفطور لهم وما أشبه ذلك.
وهناك استدراك لما قد يتوهم من أن إثابته كذلك تنقص ثواب الصائم وإنما لم تنقص إثابته بذلك إثابة الصائم لاختلاف جهة ثوابهما، كما لا ينقص ثواب الدال على الهدى ثواب فاعله.
